Yacht “Kupava”
The second boat. The experience gained building Gonta paid back immediately: Gonta's bare hull took a year, Kupava's took two months.
In the summer of 1982 construction of another yacht began. She was named Kupava, and the key crew were those from Gonta. The experience gained building the first yacht paid back — if building just the hull of Gonta, with no deck, took a whole year, on Kupava it took two months.
In November 2009 she was in Kherson, Ukraine, and a crew of four set sail to circumnavigate the globe. The Black Sea in winter is not a calm sea, and the Canary Islands in February 2010 were a welcome break from the storms of the Black and Mediterranean seas. By March she was in the Atlantic, en route to Recife.
